Everyone is not on the same schedule of inner growth. Some of us know we are growing and we deeply long to grow spiritually and emotionally each day, but most people do not know they are growing and do not long for daily growth at all.
The Knowers and Growers can be very irritating to other people who don't have or understand the excitement and enthusiasm we exhibit. Our passion for learning is at odds with other popular passions, such as entertainment, games and "chilling."
We each have a unique trajectory toward knowing and growing toward the living, daily reality that God is in charge. It WILL happen eventually, but it may take us many decades of life to admit it.
Admitting that God is in charge is only the first step. What follows is a lifetime attempt to remember that God is in charge and to live accordingly. It will definitely consume our entire life if we let it, meaning the remembering and living with God in charge of our own life.
This is the whole point of Torah - remembering and living with God in charge of each of us as an individual and also as a people, the Jewish people. God gave the Torah to the Jewish people to help us to remember and to live with Him in charge, which is the core of the Jewish faith.
